I’m thinking that they probably always do this. We wouldn’t have used a credit card had the hotel been clear and truthful about already taking the money as a deposit It’s left a bad taste and put me off using the hotel again. This has meant we have had to pay a credit card charge.

However now we are back in the UK we discovered that the hotel does not give you the deposit back directly but uses the card presented as a deposit off your room bill. There are no frills but room very clean, great coffee, bedding immaculate. Check in staff Walter was great, very speedy, they do ask for a credit card imprint for $100 which they agree to not charge providing there is no room damages etc. Excellent location our room was on the first floor and you couldn’t hear any noise from either the strip or casino.
